WJ Rear Shock Sleeve Installation

I hit a rough railroad crossing at 55mph about 4 months ago, and I had a clunking noise in the rear suspension since then.  I replaced the shocks with Monroe replacements, but I still had the clunking.  I had been struggling to find the cause of the clunking noise, until reading about the KOR-1012 shock bolt and sleeve kit.  The hardest part was pushing out the original split shock bushing sleeves, and pushing in the new solid sleeves from your kit.  I don’t have a lot of special tools, or a press.  I experimented with several methods before figuring out the easiest way.  I used a 6” long, 5/16” bolt with a flat washer, new sleeve, through old sleeve still in bushing, ½”x13/16” deep well socket for a spacer, flat washer, and 5/16” nut.  I sprayed a little WD40 on the bushing and cranked on the nut until the new sleeve was nearly into the bushing.  Then, I took it all apart and moved the old sleeve to the bolt head side to push the new sleeve in the rest of the way. The 4 month old Monroe shock sleeves had threads worn into them from the stock Jeep bolts.  The new bolts got to the proper 68 ft lbs of torque right away.  The clunking is completely gone!  My passengers and I thank you very much!
