Thank you for your interest! Though
all shipping prices stated in this website
are based on the 48 US States, I've received a
lot of correspondence from Jeepers in other parts of the world who would like to get some USA-built products on their
Jeeps. I'm
happy to ship to you ANYWHERE in the world via the US Postal
Service (least expensive) or DHL or FedEx (quickest), but there is a minimum
order of $150 USD in effect. Shipping via a carrier other
than UPS is also a benefit to
those who live in countries that UPS acts as their "customs
broker", as there has been some talk of UPS holding packages
"for ransom" and demanding "customs broker fees", sometimes to
the tune of 20% of the sale. See this link
HERE.
Here is the backup from UPS's website that talks about
Customs Brokerage Fees:
HERE.
Payment Methods for
International Shipments
Wire Transfers: Our preferred
method of accepting payments from your bank to our bank
directly, and it's less expensive than using a credit card.
It also protects us from would-be criminals who steal credit
card numbers and/or deal in fake money orders. There are no additional fees to you for the transaction
originating from outside the US or Canada. If this creates
a major hard-ship for you, please let me know via e-mail, and we
can discuss alternates if you are strongly against wire
transfers.
Credit Cards:
Due to the high rate of would-be criminals operating out of the
Middle-East and Asia, we have suspended accepting credit
cards for International orders (Canada is the only exception).
Canada:
Evidently our credit card
processor counts you guys as US (for better or for worse, lol)
as there are no additional fees to process the transaction that
we are billed for. However, UPS is brutal on "customs
brokering fees", so be forewarned on that. I will have the
option to ship via DHL in the future, and that may be less
expensive. More to come as I have info available.
Western Union:
we do accept Western
Union, but you will be responsible for all fees on your end, as
well as an additional $45 fee to us because of the time that
this method of payment takes us to complete.
Here's how this works for
smaller items we can ship via USPS:
Bear in mind that typically you get the
best value for shipping if the weight is as close as possible to
the maximum weight that the USPS allows to your country.
If there is a particular part or parts on my website that you or
your Jeep club is interested in,
E-MAIL me
your Jeep's year and model and the part (s) you are interested
in, and I'll get you an estimated weight for it. (If you
get several members of your Jeep club involved, I will give you
a better discount to thank you for the extra business)
Then, simply go to
www.USPS.com, choose your
country from the list, and plug in that weight to get an
estimated shipping cost. I am happy to do this for you as
well, but I won't have the time to try splitting the weight into
separate boxes to see if there is another less expensive option,
whereas you may be able to find some time to save yourself some
money. The US Postal Service is notorious for having
different rate schedules for different weights and times of
delivery.
Lastly, we finalize the order,
selecting the delivery option that best fits your needs as well
as an estimated cost based on that weight. Then, go to
www.PAYPAL.com and create an account or log in, click
on "send money" to "orders@kevinsoffroad.com"
and I will then receive an order from them (PayPal) with all
your information in it. I can also accept Western Union, but
there will be a $45 fee because of the time that it takes me to
complete the transaction. I'll confirm the order with you
via e-mail and get the items ordered up to arrive my shop,
typically within a week's time...sometimes a little longer.
If it's a product that I build in-house, I can generally have it ready to
go in under 48 hours. I'll carry it down to the post
office for you the next time I go (normally I go at least once a
week), and will ship it out, requesting any add'l funds from you
for shipping if it was more than what we estimated at that time.
My charges for this service
are as follows:
I charge a $20 surcharge for my travel
time to use USPS
because it takes us a lot longer than just spitting out a UPS
label and having our driver come and pick it up. We also
charge $10 every 15 minutes it takes
me to unpack boxes, repack boxes, stand in line, fill out customs forms and
mail boxes (typically it takes 30-60 minutes total for most
small or medium sized orders depending on how long the line is
at the Post Office that day, so your bill for my services would
be $30 with no line, and $10 additional for every quarter-hour I
have to be there on your behalf).
If I need to transfer items into larger
boxes, I charge only my cost per box, typically between $.75 to
$2.50 each.
That's all. No other charges!
If you figure out how much that same package would cost if you
had me send it via
www.UPS.com or
www.FEDEX.com, I think you'll see what a good value
this service will be to you. I can also accept packages
from other Offroad shops (who WON'T ship out of the Country) on
your behalf for $5/package plus outbound postage. So far we've
established happy customers in Sweden, Japan, Switzerland,
England, Ireland, Poland, Iceland, Malaysia, Portugal, Spain,
Germany, Norway, Peru, Venezuela, Australia, New Zealand,
France, United Arab Emirates, Greece, Italy, and
looking forward to helping more International Jeepers as time
goes on. Please let me know how I might further assist you
and your fellow International Jeepers! And, if you'd like

Thanks, Kevin
P.S. Due to popular request, I need to
write this note. Please don't ask us to falsify
information with respect to invoice amounts on customs forms for
two reasons:
1) I am only able to insure your shipment
for the amount claimed on the customs forms. If you
purchase $500 in product, I put down $25 on the invoice, and the
shipment gets lost, you are going to get a check for exactly
$25, and then you're going to pick up the phone and give ME a
hard time about it, even though we were trying to do you a
favor.
2) I'm not in the business of trying to
explain myself in a court of law and paying fines for falsifying
records, and THEN having to pay for YOUR customs fees. I'm
sorry...governments suck, and they tax us way too much...I
realize this, but I just can't take this risk. I have a
family that depends on me to provide for them...which would be
hard for me to continue doing from Alcatraz Island or Guantanamo
Bay. At your request, we can, however, separate the
inbound and outbound shipping from the product cost, and make
you up two separate invoices, so that you're not paying customs
fees on shipping costs.
Here's how this works for
larger items we can't ship via USPS:
If you are looking for one of our
larger items that we can't take to the post office (Bumpers,
Roof Racks, Rock Sliderz, etc...) then we can ship those items
via a "Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier", or NVOCC for short.
Essentially, what they do is combine a BUNCH of smaller
shipments that are leaving the U.S.A. for a common destination,
put everything into a cargo container, and then ship it to that
destination, where they have a service in your country that will
open the container, sort the shipments, and forward along your
shipment to you at your address. It's a great service, and
not terribly expensive. We will ship our items via OUR
carrier to a U.S. address (normally in a port city) and you will
need to deal with paying the NVOCC directly, as well as any
import taxes.
|
Though I
would LOVE to help you with this task, I don't have the time
to do much more than give you a link to their websites and
have YOU search out the best NVOCC for YOUR area. I
can provide you with the weights and the sizes of the
shipment, but if I become involved any further than that, I
will need to charge you by the 15-minute segment at a rate
of $25. Thanks for your understanding. -KF- |
